The Silver Oak Jumper Tournament
News / Blog
It’s the last day of the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament 2021, and once again we were blessed with what was about as close to the best weather for a horse show that you could ask for here at the pristine Flintfields Horse Park in Traverse City. With plenty of events stacked up for the day, all seemed determined to enjoy this special horse show down to the last class. A lovely turnout of top horses and riders filled the arenas, and when it was finally time for that final class the whole horse show gathered together around the Grand Prix arena for the Agero Grand Prix.
Today was a day of reverence for our country and remembering those who lost their lives in the World Trade Center two decades ago. Michigan’s bright sun dazzled all day and a comforting breeze made for a simply picturesque day at the horse show.
Traverse City graced day three of the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament with great weather once again; a perfect venue for the myriad of show jumping events set for the day. Of course, one that stood out among the crowd was the highly anticipated $36,000 1.45m GGT footing Welcome Stakes, and it definitely did not disappoint.
A sunny day two has now come and gone, at the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament, 2021! As promised, there was plenty of action and fun to be had in the day’s events, especially in the Grand Prix arena. The first featured event was the 1.45m Open Speed class, a ranked and high-class CSI 3* for a top prize of $36,000. This class, which was very graciously sponsored by Malvern Bank, truly generated a palpable hype and a fantastic bit of competition for all.
We’re back and ready for more action here on day one of the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament, 2021, at the stunning Flintfields Horse Park in Traverse city Michigan. In the feature 1.40m CSI 3* event, alongside talented and prestigious riders left and right, young rider Cathleen Driscoll clenched an early-week victory aboard the Belgian dark bay stallion Iceman de Muze.

This being the tenth running of the SOJT we wanted to pass on the highlight classes. For those of you not able to be in Traverse City, it will be lived streamed by “Clip My Horse TV”.
