Olympic Caliber Show Jumping Coming to Your Backyard August 16th!

Admission is free for the whole family as many of the world’s top riders and their exceptional horses compete in Halifax just 32 miles south of Boston Halifax, MA – July 13, 2015  – Come, bring the family, bring your friends or entertain your important clients at the best Sunday afternoon of entertainment in the Northeast, the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament. Enjoy an electric atmosphere and witness what has been described as “the world’s most beautiful sport” first hand, so close you can actually feel the ground shake as these magnificent equine athletes from all over the world compete over huge jumps and race against the clock in the $75,000 Agero Grand Prix.It all happens on Sunday August 16th with festivities, including the regal opening ceremonies, at 10:30 a.m.

The best news is it won’t cost you a dime and you’ll be part of an event which supports the BINA Farm Center, a therapeutic riding center in Lexington, Massachusetts, a facility that is dedicated to helping many children and adults with difficult physical and mental challenges. But there’s more than just show jumping. During halftime, you will see one of the world’s top Clydesdale eight horse hitches during intermission. You have seen these amazing giants during any number of heartwarming Budweiser commercials over the years. Now, see what a team of eight Clydesdale horses is like, up close and personal. These amazing giants stand more than eighteen hands tall and can weigh in excess of 2,500 pounds, so envision the horse power in an eight horse hitch working in unison. If all that weren’t enough to get the family off the couch, the Nor’ Easters one of the country’s top Acapella groups, will be performing the National Anthem, and several popular numbers so come and see your own version of “Pitch Perfect” along all the thrills described. Enjoy a beautiful summer day with fantastic food provided by services on site, much like you would enjoy at the ball park but with more variety. All of this by the way will catch the eyes of some eight camera crews circling our competitive Unicorn Landing Farm, Grand Prix field operated by NESN (New England Sports Network ), so if all the excitement grace and fun weren’t enough you might get your face on television when NESN broadcasts the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament a week later to over five million homes in New England.

It all happens at 21 Plymouth Street in beautiful Halifax Massachusetts, just a half hour south of Boston right next to historic Plymouth.

Peter Leone, a U.S. Olympic silver medalist will be competing as will Peter Wylde who grew up locally and attended Tufts University and went on to world fame and an Olympic Gold Medal for team USA. Kevin Babington also an Olympian and one of Ireland’s top athletes will be back defending his crown as the 2014 Agero Grand Prix Champion. Paul O’Shea our 2013 winner, also a top Irish rider, will be back to contend for the Silver Oak Crown and all together there will be some two hundred thousand dollars in prize money at stake this year.
