Silver Oak Jumper Tournament
Day 1 – Wednesday, August 14, 2019

We hope you can hear the bugles sounding because here at the Fieldstone Show Park the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament is back in full swing with action…and it’s still only day one!! Classes ran smoothly and beautifully, and everything from the schooling to the elite levels was well attended with some impressive competition. The first sponsored event of that day was the SmartPak 1.20m class, and was won by Eva Fisherman on her lovely dark chocolate gelding Furbo Arkansas. One rider, Schuyler Riley, who found herself in the ribbons more than once today had nothing but positive things to say about being back this year: “Well I have always enjoyed coming out to SOJT because of the atmosphere, definitely. They really try to make it special: always have good course designers, there’s a unique, almost European feel to it all, and it just adds up to a feeling that is quite special here.” These were just a few of her kind compliments after nearly eight years of coming out to the show!

Last but not…well let’s be honest it’s really the most exciting part of the day, was the 1.40 Open Jumper sponsored by Prio Wealth Mtg, won by the Irish phenom (and long-time SOJT attendee) Willie Tynan on mount Dominique. As a matter of fact, he won both major prize classes today, also claiming victory aboard KEC Kris Kringle in the World Equestrian Center sponsored 1.30 Open Jumper. When asked if using the center arena affected the experience of todays Prix, he said “I really don’t think so, plus the footing is phenomenal; we did one in here last year and obviously the jumps come up quickly, but at the end of the day that’s why we have to really know our horses at this level, so as long as it’s safe bring it on!” Well we agree with you, Willie, and this electric momentum here at Silver Oak will only keep building as the rest of the week unravels, so bring it on and bring yourself down to the Fieldstone Show Park for this illustrious event while the fun is just beginning!!  You really won’t want to miss out on the slew of events we have in store for the rest of the week including, but certainly not limited, to our $10,000 GGT Welcome Stakes on Thursday, a riveting $7,000 Speed Derby on Friday (sponsored by JR Hudson Horse Transportation), the tradition continues with Saturday’s SOJT Farm Cup, and the grand finale will be the $75,000 Agero Grand Prix on our last day, Sunday. We hope to see you here!!
