The Silver Oak Jumper Tournament Announces 2021 Dates and Elevation to FEI 3* Status

Traverse City, Mich. – Dec. 8, 2020 – Looking ahead to the 2021 show season, the management team at the SOJT is pleased to announce the return of the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament, presented by the Davis McCullough Foundation, to Flintfields Horse Park in Traverse City Michigan. Now featuring FEI CSI 3* competition, the 2021 Silver Oak Jumper Tournament is set to take place September 8-12, running the week prior to the 2021 American Gold Cup FEI 4*, presented by CaptiveOne Advisors. The upcoming Silver Oak Jumper Tournament will boast exciting international competition and even more prize money up for grabs!  We are especially happy to have been elevated to FEI 3* status given the advantages that provides our top riders.

The Silver Oak Jumper Tournament was founded eight years ago by Jeff Papows and is a registered 501(c)(3) charity that supports animal rescue efforts. The 2020 season marked the event’s inaugural move to Traverse City, Michigan, home of the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival, presented by CaptiveOne Advisors.  Highlight events at this year’s Silver Oak Jumper Tournament include the $37,700 GGT Footing Welcome Stake FEI 3*, the $36,600 Speed Classic, the $137,000 Agero Grand Prix FEI 3* and once again The Kevin Babington Benefit Classic a 1.25M affair that was a favorite of the 2020 schedule.

“Working with the Morrissey Management Group has been utopian, the level of professionalism, a demeanor consistent with our mutual desire to promote the sport as well as the charitable nature of Silver Oak’s philanthropic platform. The people end of this journey was the missing element in years of work creating something special now truly embraced by the right facility and management philosophy,” said Jeff Papows, PhD.  People make all the difference!
