2013 Boston Strong Rider Bonus Winner Paul O’Shea

Silver Oak Jumper Tournament Congratulates Boston Strong Rider Bonus Winner Paul O’Shea

Hampton Falls, NH – August 22, 2013 – – The Silver Oak Jumper Tournament congratulates Paul O’Shea on his victory in the first ever $25,000 Boston Strong Rider Bonus. The personable Irish rider capped two weeks of unmatched success with his win in the $50,000 Fieldstone Grand Prix, presented by Gallo Dark Horse Wine, Ocean Spray and Samuel Adams at the Fieldstone Summer Showcase in Halifax, MA. That win, combined with his victory in the $75,000 Equestrian Estates Planning Group Grand Prix at the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament the week before, earned him the bonus.

OShea, who won with Primo de Revel at Silver Oak, raced to victory with Instant Karma at Fieldstone.
“Instant Karma has really come along a lot, and she has really matured. She is relaxed all the time now, and she has really grown up. I think the best is ahead for her. I had a really good feeling with her,” O’Shea noted.

He was very close to posting back to back wins with Primo de Revel. “We were unlucky with Primo De Revel with four faults, but he jumped great, too. I have all the faith in the world in all my horses, and Instant Karma was all there for me today.”

“Scott Clawson and I thought the Boston Strong Bonus might be a little tougher to win,” laughed Silver Oak Show Chairman, Jeff Papows, “But, when a rider gets on a hot streak like Paul O’Shea was on for the past two weeks, there’s no getting in his way. He was not going to be denied. Paul is the ultimate competitor and gentleman and we couldn’t be more thrilled that he was the one that took home the bonus award in the first year.”

“It feels incredible to win that bonus,” O’Shea smiled. “It is fantastic that Jeff and Scott put that up. It was a great idea, and they deserve a lot of credit for running two fantastic shows. I will absolutely be back next year. I think a lot of people will come to these shows next year, and they should, because they are great shows and they are going to grow and grow. These shows have the true makings of a Summer Circuit in New England.”

Following the overwhelming success during this year’s debut event in Hampton Falls, the team at Silver Oak is already working on next year’s Silver Oak Jumper Tournament. “Keep watching the news for a couple of very important announcements,” stated Jeff Papows. “I’m pretty confident that we’ll be announcing a bigger prize jackpot for next year and a couple of other exciting ideas are already in the works for 2014.”
