Halifax, MA – June 11, 2014- – The popular Silver Oak Jumper Tournament which is making the big move this year to the beautiful, permanent facilities at Fieldstone Show Park, just 28 miles south of Boston, continues to prepare for this year’s event, scheduled from August 13 – 17, 2014.

The prize list for this year’s show is available at two locations, online at the show’s website, https://silveroakjumpertournament.com/or5 by visitinghttp://www.bluetoad.com/publication/?i=2028741

With this year’s show, expected to be the most exciting of the series so far, attention to detail and advanced preparations for every facet associated with the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament are continuing at a torrid pace.

In addition to the new, very large all-weather GGT fabric and sand warm up ring added for the 2014 edition of the tournament, the management of Silver Oak continues their laser-like focus on the lush grass of the beautiful Grand Prix Field. Footing will always be one of the most important issues for Show Chairman, Jeff Papows, a long-time horseman who realizes the importance of a great show surface for both the horse’s safety and soundness and as part of the formula in creating exceptional show jumping competitions.

With those ideals in mind, special detail is being paid to the grass footing in the showcase arena. Fertilizing, weed kill, seeding, and hydraulic aeration, with the latest in high tech equipment, are all pieces of the plan to have the turf in perfect jumping condition for the week of Silver Oak. With that in mind, Craig Canning of Progressive Grower is our newly employed, but highly qualified turf expert and is bringing years of expertise and the latest in products and equipment to bear on optimizing our root system. “Jeff has manically professed to me the importance of the exact conditions he is expecting out of the Grand Prix Field and we are up to the task, with many years of experience the required equipment, care, and feed products we will assure the desired results,” said Craig Canning.

Not only will the field be in spectacular condition, exhibitors will be happy to know that the jumps will be new and refreshing as well, according to Papows. “Steve Stephens will supply the jump inventory for both competition rings and his best inventory is being rejuvenated and prepared for stunning use in both rings.”

Jeff Papows, Chairman of the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament

“Jeff is a dear friend and does a lot for our sport, we are excited to expand our role in the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament, it’s a fantastic event,” said Steve Stephens.

“We have added more power to the electrical grid, tens of thousands of dollars have been invested in gangs of plug clusters and sub panels for the stabling areas making access to power for fans, and essential summer equipment straight forward and easy to get to,” noted Papows. “Jamaica Tent is erecting rigid frame tents offering a more airy and pole free stabling alternative.”

Papows then spoke of this year’s awards. “The awards this year are over the top, our ribbons are all of the three foot variety, crystal trophies will be presented codifying our affection for Silver Oak Jumper Tournament champions. There are custom embroidered coolers, scrims and rider coats for the winners of all our classes. Our athletes work hard and we want their efforts recognized like nowhere else,” he said.

“The ship for the Friday night dinner cruise is booked, catering plans to include gourmet offerings for our VIP tents are going through final reviews,” he added. Papows was speaking of the all-new dinner cruise for all competitors, families and friends. The entire evening is complimentary, courtesy of the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament. A buffet dinner will be served with music and a cash bar. The boat will cruise Plymouth Harbor past some scenic historical sites including Plymouth Rock and includes a beautiful sunset while onboard. The cruise is scheduled Friday, August 15, 2014 from 7:00 – 9:00 PM. Transportation will be provided from exhibitor’s hotels, to and from the dock, at no cost.

A host of new sponsors this year include NESN (New England Sports Network), who will be televising the Silver Oak competition and surrounding interest stories. The Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, as previously mentioned, is sponsoring the lavish rider’s tent.  Plymouth Wine Brewery is the official wine sponsor and supplier.

Version 2.0, a Boston High Tech Public Relations leader, is our new General Admission sponsor.  Triple Crown Custom is sponsoring many of the extravagant award blankets and coolers, as is SmartPak.

“We’re thrilled to have Agero, the leader in automotive safety, security, telematics and road side assistance as our Grand Prix sponsor,” smiled Papows.

D&G Ventures is the title sponsor for the Sunday 1.35M Mini Prix, Herb Chambers is once again the official automobile dealer of the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament.  Cross Insurance is a major sponsor in 2014 and a critical corporate sponsor as well.

Kilkenny Equine Insurance Agency is also a presenting sponsor. Jack Van Dell, from Van Dell Equestrian Jewelry in Wellington will be in attendance and adds to our sponsor ranks. Russo’s Flower and Garden in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, is our official florist for 2014, and Papows noted, “Special and ample attention is being paid to the floral arrangements, and the work on that has been entrusted to the fine folks at Russo’s Flower and Garden.”

Papows urged any exhibitor planning to attend Silver Oak to get their entries in quickly, as it appears this year’s event will reach the limit on the number of horses accepted. “Entries have been coming in via Equestrian Connect online, as well as calls to our show secretary and clearly we are going to be fully subscribed,” said Jeff Papows. “I would encourage barn managers to get us an indication of stalls needed, as I have said all along, I will suspend entries at five hundred horses to ensure the jumping surfaces are ideal and that our rings end at the appropriate hour allowing our customers access to the sea shore and many fine restaurants.  We are not there yet but we are well ahead of last year’s pace,” he smiled.
